Apart from being a Trustee of the SPCA, I am also delighted to support the organisation’s financial development and oversight as the Honorary Treasurer. I hope to bring to both roles decades’ worth of experience as an audit partner at KPMG.<\/p>\n

I came to live in Hong Kong in 1990 and have seen first-hand the role the SPCA plays. I am a huge advocate of the Society and delighted to play my part in its continued development.<\/p>\n

In my remit as the Honorary Treasurer of SPCA’s Executive Committee,\u00a0 I’m delighted to serve as a Trustee this year.<\/p>\n

I grew up in Hong Kong and Australia and trained as a finance lawyer in Hong Kong, London and Beijing.<\/p>\n

For the past 15 years, I have served as a partner in a global law firm where I have taken on some management responsibilities. Although this is my first experience as an active part in the governance of an NGO, I have recently completed the Financial Times Non-Executive Director Diploma and I am keen on supporting SPCA’s growth and contributing to the welfare of animals in Hong Kong.<\/p>\n

We are a pet-loving family that enjoys spending time with our family dog called Winston (aka Wizzy) and one of my three kids dreams of becoming a vet one day.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/div>[vc_empty_space height=”40px”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_id=”Joanna-Eades” conditional_render=”%5B%7B%22value_role%22%3A%22administrator%22%7D%5D” el_class=”col-padding”][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Ms. Joanna Eades” use_theme_fonts=”yes”]

I am honoured to have been nominated as a Trustee in the recent Annual General Meeting.<\/p>\n

Having previously served as the Chair of SPCA’s Executive Committee since 2022 and a committee member since 2016, I am excited to support the SPCA in my new capacity as Trustee.I\u2019m looking forward to giving my time and the expertise gained from more than 25 years as a lawyer as well as applying the knowledge from theFinancial Times Non-Executive Director Diploma to support SPCA on opportunities around NGO governance and management.<\/p>\n

Being a lifelong dog owner, I recently lost two much-loved, rescued “tong-gau”\u201d whose poisoning and various illnesses have meant spending more time at the SPCA than I would have wished. The experience vividly demonstrated the excellence of the SPCA’s veterinary staff. I fervently support the work our incredible staff do for our members and the animals of Hong Kong.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/div>[vc_empty_space height=”40px”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_id=”Gigi-Fu” conditional_render=”%5B%7B%22value_role%22%3A%22administrator%22%7D%5D” el_class=”col-padding”][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Ms. Gigi Fu” use_theme_fonts=”yes”]

Since 1995, I have been an active supporter of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Hong Kong) (SPCA), participating in various charity events organised by the SPCA. In 2000, I took on a more involved role by assisting in fundraising efforts. In 2004, I was elected as both the President and a Trustee of the SPCA, continuing to dedicate myself to the promotion of animal welfare.<\/p>\n

At home, I currently have three beloved dogs. One of my late dogs, Man Man \u2014 who has since crossed the Rainbow Bridge \u2014 was also adopted from the SPCA. In 2015, Man Man became a \u201cDr. Dog,\u201d accompanying me on visits to elderly care homes, hospitals, and universities, sharing warmth and comfort through animal companionship.<\/p>\n

With my extensive networks and board experience, I look forward to supporting the SPCA as it grows its talent pool, expands fundraising connections, and strengthens board engagement.<\/p>\n

I have been in the recruitment industry since 1997 and in Hong Kong since 2001 where I run ConnectedGroup \u2013 a 50+ employee recruitment and search business. We have developed a social impact strategy to support charities with reduced fee recruitment and launched www.recruit4good.com as a free job advertising platform for the not-for-profit community.<\/p>\n

I am an animal welfare advocate and love animals having spent time growing up on my grandparent\u2019s farm. I have been a trustee since 2004. I was a journalist in England working for, among others, Whippet News, when I was recruited by The Standard in 1980. I have lived in Hong Kong ever since, and was for many years a professor in Hong Kong Baptist University’s Department of Journalism. My dog is a large mixed breed called Lemon. <\/span><\/p><\/blockquote><\/div>[vc_empty_space height=”40px”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_id=”Kim-J-McCoy” conditional_render=”%5B%7B%22value_role%22%3A%22administrator%22%7D%5D” el_class=”col-padding”][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Mr. Kim J McCoy” use_theme_fonts=”yes”]

I am a dual-qualified barrister (Hong Kong and New Zealand) and practice in both the criminal and civil courts. I specialise in animal law and I am the Director and Founder of the Hong Kong Animal Law and Protection Organisation (HKALPO) which seeks to inspire and encourage more Hong Kong legal professionals to be the voice of animals in Court. I am an advocate in all legal matters relating to animals and often provide educational talks on animal law and welfare to students, lawyers and other interested members of society. Through my role as a Trustee for the SPCA, I hope I can be part of creating a better world for all species of animals in Hong Kong.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote><\/div>[vc_empty_space height=”40px”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_id=”Lucy-Wong” conditional_render=”%5B%7B%22value_role%22%3A%22administrator%22%7D%5D” el_class=”col-padding”][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Mrs. Lucy Wong” use_theme_fonts=”yes”]

I started my voluntary work for the SPCA in January 2000 and became a Trustee in 2003. In 2001, I created the Foster Parent Programme and have been coming in every day to lead the programme for more than 20 years on a voluntary basis, working with our roster of 4,000 foster parents. I am also involved in the Development Committee, helping the animals I love in any way I can. I currently have one dog and two cats, one of which was adopted from the SPCA with Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) but we saved her and she lives happily with our family.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote><\/div>[vc_empty_space height=”60px”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”col-padding” conditional_render=”%5B%7B%22value_role%22%3A%22administrator%22%7D%5D”][vc_column][vc_column_text]
